Les Voiles de Saint Tropez 2025 : Ultimate Riviera Regatta
From September 27th to October 5th, the Gulf of Saint‑Tropez will transform into a stage of elegance and adrenaline as Les Voiles de Saint Tropez 2025 returns. This isn’t just a regatta, it’s a living tradition, an event where maritime legacy meets contemporary spectacle.
Every autumn, the waters off Saint-Tropez fill with sails that seem to belong as much to art as to sport. More than 300 yachts, from century-old classics to cutting-edge racers, gather for Les Voiles de Saint Tropez 2025, a regatta that embodies Riviera glamour, tradition, and the thrill of the sea.
A Story Born from a Chance Encounter
The story of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez began not with a grand plan, but with a moment of chance more than forty years ago. In September 1981, after racing in the Swan Cup in Porto Cervo, an American couple lingered in Saint-Tropez with their Swan 44. They joined a few local regattas, made friends, and one afternoon, while the owner was boasting of his racing victories, the 12-Meter Ikra entered the port. Someone casually asked: “Do you think you could beat Ikra?” The reply came instantly: “Why not, if Ikra accepts the challenge.”
Patrice de Colmont, the man who would become the driving spirit of the event, ran to find Jean Laurain, skipper of Ikra. By the next day, a spontaneous race was held, a daring duel between a Swan 44 and a 12-Meter JI. What began as a playful challenge soon evolved into a tradition, and from this spirited contest, Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez was born.
Les Voiles de Saint Tropez 2025 edition will feature nearly 300 yachts spanning 19 distinct classes, from century-old schooners to cutting-edge superyachts, all competing within the Corinthian spirit, no prize money, just honor and mastery.

The Village des Voiles : Where Culture Finds its Harbor
Festival energy unfolds onshore in the Village des Voiles, alive daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Here, live music mingles with chic exhibitor booths, culinary discoveries, and cultural exchange, all free and open to admirers.
Each evening, the quay pulses with celebrations under the Mediterranean sky. Days begin with cannon strikes from the Port’s Portalet Tower, and end with impromptu “Splice the Mainbrace” toasts, where sailors revel in tradition, wine, and shared stories of the sea.

Why Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez Matters for Discerning Travelers
